I get it, were in the period of cinema nostalgia, Directors are saying "people wanna see more of what they used to love...today!"
and yes some times they do get it right (Jurassic World, Force Awakens) sometimes they get it wrong (Ghostbusters, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and sometimes its like...."Whats the point?!!"
Que "Rings" That's right our favorite scary brat Samaras back and this time it looks like shes ave'in it large!!!
The film has all the classic traits of the original ( the creepy shower scene,the weirdos with all the information, the super happy couple bedroom scene,the twat who watches the video and of course the crawling out of the Television magic trick)
I genuinely found myself shouting at this trailer " we know the fucking story and if you don't....watch the originals!"
Honestly this trailer reminds me of a slightly visually upgraded version of the first film...nothing else.
It may sound a little harsh and the film does look like it'll be an ok watch,..However I once again feel that this is another film that's using its dated franchise to simply generate income rather than providing us with anything new, entertaining...or scary for that matter!!!
I'm disappointed in the trailer and can only hope they're saving the best scenes for the feature.
